24/7 Video Security offers several types of HD video security systems: HD-CVI, IP and Mobile.
HD-CVI is a fairly new HD technology that was introduced in August 2014. HD-CVI uses the same Siamese coax cabling as the older analog systems. As a result, upgrading from the older analog systems is fairly easy. You only need to replace the cameras and DVR. Cameras can be located up to 1500 ft from the DVR.
IP type systems has been around for a few years. The equipment supporting this technology is a little more expensive than HD-CVI. The advantage in installing an IP type system is the wiring. IP systems uses CAT 5 Ethernet cabling. CAT 5 cables are thinner, therefore routing and hiding the cable is easier. Also, the camera power is supplied through the CAT 5 cable. Cameras can be located up 1000 ft from the DVR.
Mobile Cameras are available for cars, truck or buses. The DVR can record up to 4 sources: Front, Back, Left Side and Right Side.
